About The River at Chesterton

Welcome to The River at Chesterton, a church family passionate about helping people encounter God, grow in faith, and live with purpose.

We are a growing, autonomous church within the Wesleyan Church Denomination that has stepped into a new season of building something fresh while carrying a deep appreciation for the community, connection, and simplicity that has shaped us along the way. Our heart is to create a church experience that feels welcoming, easy to navigate, and centered on what matters most: Jesus!

At The River, we are committed to creating an environment that is:

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teaching. We believe God’s will is for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness and loving deeds.

The Bible is the highest source of written authority for God’s plan for His people; it reveals how to live out that plan, individually and corporately. Beliefs, practices and priorities are to be anchored in clear biblical teachings.

We believe the Church is not a building, but a family of believers called to love God, love people, and make a difference in the world.

The Church exists to help people know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and step into their calling.

At The River, we are committed to creating a community that is welcoming, Spirit-led, and focused on helping people grow in faith and life.
